Our Connection
Owned by the Garden family for generations, they have maintained their family compound in St. Helena since the 1940s. The White Barn Vineyard takes its name from a small historic white barn perched at the top of the winding drive. Planted in 1978 exclusively to Zinfandel, this vineyard is sited on the great alluvial fan that defines the St. Helena appellation. Frog’s Leap was introduced to the Garden family by viticulturist Frank Leeds in 1999 and has been farming the vineyard ever since.
The fruit from this ranch–which makes up nearly two-thirds of every bottle of Frog’s Leap Zin–has always been marked by its high-toned red fruit and floral notes, a distinctive signature that provides an elegant backbone for this particular wine made in a more subtle “old school” style.
