Our Connection
Sitting at the end of Galleron Road in the center of the Napa Valley, the Galleron Ranch has been the heart of Frog’s Leap Sauvignon Blanc program since it was purchased from the Galleron family in 1997. Located on a half mile stretch of the west bank of the Napa river, the site is made up primarily of deep gravel and silt soils — soils far too rich for red varietals, particularly Cabernet, but quite good for Sauvignon Blanc, a variety more adept at handling vigorous growth.
This Ranch is also the locus of one of our largest and most successful sustainability efforts: the restoration and re-naturalization of the Napa river. Achieved in concert with dozens of our neighbors in the Rutherford appellation, the Rutherford Reach Restoration Program has served as a model for similar public private conservation efforts both in Napa and across the country — ensuring the continued health of not only this beautiful stretch of the river, but the entire community for decades to come.
